We are a fast-growing media company that owns and manages a number of web properties. Content is a large part of our business, hence we are always looking to improve and grow our processes.

Due to a new opportunity presented to us, we require a hard-working, detail-oriented and motivated individual to fulfill a role that involves daily monitoring, updating, and proofreading of content. These articles are mostly product review types of content.

You will be expected to work with writers when necessary to produce new areas of content when needed, other times you will be working yourself to switch things around or improve on some of the copy to make it more engaging and helpful to the readers.

This content needs to be carefully reviewed and fact-checked since it will be published on a large website with high publishing standards.

We are focused on building, growing, and acquiring content businesses. We are lucky enough to have been able to grow during 2020 since our business benefits from increased online shopping.

We currently run websites covering multiple countries and languages but your role will be focused on an English-speaking website.

Our team is spread out all over the world with people based in Europe, the USA, and Asia. We currently have 8 full-time staff as well as a bunch of freelancers.

If you’re looking for a role where you can learn a lot and develop useful skills that will stay with you for life then this could be the job for you. You will be working directly with the founder of the company who has built and sold multiple successful businesses in the past.

Most of our team works in the Asian time zone so that would be preferable but is by no means essential. The majority of this work can be done without heavy interaction with other team members. Most of the interaction will be with writers based in Europe or the US.

Our aim is to grow this business into a large multi-seven figure enterprise and any employees that help us get there will be rewarded along the way.

About the Role

This is a new role that came up due to an exciting business opportunity for us. We are looking for somebody to come in ASAP and take over this part of our business. It is a very important role to fill so we are looking for somebody with excellent editing and content management skills.

Full training will be given, though it should be a fairly quick role to pick up, but may take longer to master.

You will be working in WordPress and also using some spreadsheets and custom tools to alert us to content that needs to be changed.

Our team mostly uses ClickUp to manage tasks and communicate. We also use skype and may move to Slack in the future.

Your typical day in this role will be spent using our tools which will give you a list of articles that should be checked. You will then need to manually see if they require updating or not. If so you will have to talk with our writers to see about adding new content.

You will also be responsible for repurposing existing articles into a new format, fact-checking, and improving the copy to make them as engaging as possible.

In the long term, this role could evolve into being project manager for this whole website, one which is growing very fast.

Who You Are

We are looking primarily for smart, hard-working people that are looking to go the extra mile and in turn be rewarded for that.

The following skills are required for this role:

  • Ability to edit WordPress posts
  • Basic HTML tags e.g. <li>, <h2> etc…
  • Fluent written English skills
  • Ability to improve some copy where necessary
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic Excel skills
  • Ability to research and do fact-checking

We don’t need experience in an identical role since it’s unlikely that would be the case but we would hope to see some experience relevant to the skills above.
