Now Hiring: Remote Video Production Manager
Are you a project manager who loves the video creation process? Do you love seeing what works and doesn’t on YouTube? Are you up for the challenge of releasing amazing content and growing a 125k+ Subscriber audience to 200k, 300k subs?
The demand is growing for education in digital marketing – and we can’t keep up with the demand!
Our brand is in a unique position to be trusted as an authority in the data-driven marketing space. We are looking to increase our content production and start working with guest instructors to grow our channel and make it a brand in it’s own right (and not rely on our founder’s expertise) That’s why we are looking for a full-time YouTube and Course Production Manager to help us with this lofty goal. Would you like that to be you?
Why work with us?
Hi there, I’m Julian. I’m a Digital Analyst, Technical Marketer, YouTuber, and founder of MeasureSchool.com – the prime destination for Marketers to learn all about Tracking, Analytics, and Marketing Tech. Since 2014 our site and YouTube channel have quickly grown to become an authority for technically minded and data-driven marketers all around the world. We are gearing up for another exciting year. Do you want to come along?
MeasureSchool is a small (remote) company built by passion and a love for the art of tracking. This means that it is the perfect place to try out new ideas, see your results in action and learn a ton.
You will push forward and lead your own projects from beginning to end and see the immediate impact of the work you do.
What is this opportunity?
We are searching for a Video Content Producer who can take over our existing process for producing videos. This role involves taking a video idea from inception all the way to publication on our YouTube channel and members area. You will not appear in front of the camera (unless you want to), therefore the role can be described as part producer, part editor and part manager.
Are you up for these challenges?
Here is what some of your tasks would involve:
- Setting up and planning our content schedule
- Researching potential topics (including keyword research)
- Coming up with outline plans for videos
- Contacting potential guest writers/video producers
- Working with guest contributors to create videos
- Building out processes for video production
- Giving feedback to the video editors and graphic designers
- Quality assurance of incoming material
- Publishing and managing our YouTube channel
- Geeking out on our YouTube Analytics to improve future video performance
If you want to get a better feel for what you’d be doing, check out this interview which we used as inspiration for this job.
Who is this for?
To be upfront: This can be overwhelming at first. We expect you to be managing multiple projects at the same time, keeping an overview on what needs to happen when and following up with co-workers to get the video content out on time. This requires focus, hustle, and persistence. However, if you love being the mastermind behind new video and course launches and take all the credit, then this is for you!
You will also need some of these skills:
You need to be a doer
Since our team is still very small, there is no one to do your work for you. Yet, there is always something to create or improve. You will be part of building up the processes, team and projects and we’ll need you to be actively “doing” to take on tasks that produce results. Ideally, you already have experience in building teams and processes in the content space.
You already know what’s involved in creating quality content
Content creation goes through several stages. You are comfortable getting an idea to publication, follow a process and push through roadblocks. Ideally, you have gone through a video production process before. With your knowledge, you’ll be able to identify optimization potential and suggest changes that will make the process more efficient and the content higher quality.
You need to be a detail-oriented person
While others will directly create the content, you will be the one who brings it all together. This requires precise communication and an eye for detail. Our audience notices everything and while we can change things later, we prefer getting things right the first time.
You need to be a communicator
We work remotely, therefore face time is limited. In order to know where your project stands you will be using communication and management tools like Trello, Slack and Zoom. Good (preferably native) English is therefore necessary.
You need to have your own drive
Working remote means freedom of choice when it comes to your workplace, but also means, there is not much hand-holding involved. We, therefore, need you to be self-disciplined, hardworking, and driven to create an impact. When you hit a roadblock you have no problem communicating it to the team, staying open, transparent, and expressing your ideas freely.
What’s in it for you?
Apart from being able to work remote (you can work from wherever you want – you can sit at home and work in your underwear if you wish so…), we think you will enjoy these benefits:
- Competitive and fair base compensation + performance-based bonus
- Hands-on practical digital marketing experience working on a growing business
- Be surrounded by an awesome customer base that lives and breathes digital marketing
- Continuously improve through (online) training, going to conferences, and making connections in the industry
- Use MeasureSchool.com as your creative outlet. If you have an idea in mind that would benefit the audience, let’s bring it to life and make it a reality!
