Builder Prime is a cloud-based software designed to help home-improvement contractors organize, manage, and grow their businesses. As the company scaled, Jonathan, Founder and CEO, faced challenges in hiring on his own.

In search of a specialized remote recruitment service, Jonathan found Dynamite Jobs (whose hiring services rebranded as Remote First Recruiting) through a referral from his network. Dynamite Jobs provided expert assistance in scaling Builder Prime's remote team, leading to the successful hire of three key employees.

Background and Challenges

Before working with Remote First Recruiting (RFR), Jonathan handled the recruitment process himself and successfully hired one employee in 2020. However, as the business grew and the need for additional team members arose in 2022, the process now proved to be much more challenging.

Jonathan struggled with receiving a high volume of low-quality applications and had limited time to thoroughly review them while also running the business. In an effort to bring qualified applications, he even tried outbound recruiting on LinkedIn, but this strategy was also time-consuming and didn’t bring the results he expected.

After sharing his struggle with his network, Jonathan was recommended to work with a specialized remote recruitment company, most specifically with Remote First Recruiting, to help him find, initially, a Customer Success/Inbound Sales Representative.

Strategy and Execution

During a 30-minute discovery call, the RFR team connected with Jonathan to gain a better understanding of his business and its hiring needs. After assessing the current state of the business, the team reviewed and adjusted the original job description. Within 24 hours, the improved description was already being promoted on Dynamite Jobs and other remote job boards to maximize the talent pool as fast as possible.

Throughout the hiring process, Krista, Recruiter at RFR, took on the responsibility of screening, interviewing, and selecting A-players. Along the way, she was also providing insights about the remote market for companies like Builder Prime and supporting Jonathan during all the hiring stages.

When it came time for Jonathan to interview the top candidates, Krista actively provided guidance on how to evaluate whether or not a candidate was a good fit for his company, as well as how to make a final decision on which candidates to hire.

After successfully placing a candidate on Builder Prime's team, Krista followed up with Jonathan to ensure that the candidates’ onboarding process and communication were running smoothly.

Results

Within twelve days, Krista successfully identified and presented three top-candidates for Jonathan to interview in the final stage. After twenty five days of promoting the job, conducting rigorous screening, and interviewing, Jonathan was able to successfully hire a Customer Success/Inbound Sales Representative.

Impressed with the results, and due to the fast growth of his company, Jonathan decided to continue the hiring process and bring on a second Customer Success/Inbound Sales Representative. For this hire, Krista presented four new prospects within two weeks, and Jonathan brought onboard a second person twenty days later.

As a result of these successful hires, Jonathan once again worked with Krista and the Remote First Recruiting team for hiring a Digital Marketing Manager. This role had more challenges, as the skillset was more specific, yet Krista sent seven suitable candidates to Jonathan from which he hired one to fill in the role in sixty days.

Throughout the hiring process, Jonathan highlighted that Krista and the Remote First Recruiting team effectively represented Builder Prime, creating a positive and professional first impression for potential candidates.
